Apple has just launched a new app called Freeform, which allows users to create customizable digital whiteboards on their devices. The app, which was released in December 2022, offers a range of features that allow users to add sticky notes, scribbles, images, and more to their whiteboards.

Is the Freeform app a bad Apple? Or is it a great product with room for improvement

This offers a new level of flexibility and creativity in the digital whiteboarding process. In this article, we will explore the background, features, and reception of the Freeform app in more detail.

In the past, digital whiteboard solutions such as Mural, Figma, and Lucid have often been expensive and have had a steep learning curve, making them difficult for the average user to adopt. The launch of this cross-device app, could disrupt the digital whiteboard space and upset the traditional players on the market, today.

I failed to get my colleagues on board with Mural, will Freeform be any different?

I had previously used Mural for personal projects, but when I tried to use it at work with my colleagues, I found that they were hesitant to adopt it. The cost and learning curve of the platform were barriers to their adoption, and we ultimately had to look for a different solution. The Freeform app, with its lower cost and ease of use, maybe a more viable option for teams looking to collaborate on digital whiteboards.

I hope the adoption rates for the Freeform app will be higher due to its integration into the Apple ecosystem. Many people already use Apple devices and have an iCloud account, which makes it easier for them to access and use the Freeform app.

Additionally, the fact that the app is available on all Apple devices and can sync across devices using iCloud may make it more appealing to users who want a consistent and seamless experience across their devices. These factors may contribute to higher adoption rates for the Freeform app compared to other digital whiteboard solutions.
